On the first day of our 5-day training session at Google, we met the other faculty from colleges and universities located all over the US, learned some great ice-breaking activities, and delved into the curriculum for the fall-semester course. We are working with 24 faculty "trainees" in addition to 4 faculty "coaches" here who have taught the class before. We did some live-coding in Python, worked in pairs as if we were students taking the course, and brainstormed about best practices for course guidelines. Google treated everyone to dinner tonight at St. Tropez Wine Bar in the West Village!
