Day 2

Today we were in a different building owned by Google, the Ninth Avenue building (the old Port Authority building), where Code Next is located. We learned some cool methods for creating and checking passwords (using Python functions) and had a great time programming image processing filters from scratch (working pixel by pixel), applying them to .jpg and .png images.* The faculty coaches shared some more teaching and classroom management techniques that gave us a lot to think about. We finished up the day playing with Python lists and dictionaries.

*Yes, you can do this with a single click on a smart phone, but we're talking about writing the code that makes the app work!
